About this coffee
Uganda Imbalu is a natural anaerobic lot from the Sironko district, on the western slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda. The classic SL14 and SL28 varieties grow here at 1800–2000 m.a.s.l. on volcanic soils. Fermenting the whole cherries without oxygen before slow drying builds deep, ripe fruit and a syrupy sweetness.
In the cup: dark grape and dark cherry up front, raisin-like sweetness and a cacao finish. A bold, expressive filter coffee for anyone who loves fruit-forward cups.
How to brew
Filter: 15 g of coffee to 250 g of water (1:16) at 92–94 °C; total brew time around 2:45–3:15 on V60, Kalita or AeroPress.
Single-origin specialty Arabica, roasted by Wave Coffee Roasters in Portugal.
